2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma Valley
Our award winning 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from a few select rows from a mountain vineyard in the historic Sonoma Valley. This vineyard is over 50 years old and is at an elevaton of 1,800 feet in Nuns Canyon. The grapes were harvested on October 25, 2013 and the wine was bottled on May 29, 2015. It spent 18 months in barrel of which 33% was new French Oak.
This cabernet has a deep dark garnet color. It is dense, aromatic, layered and bursts from the glass with aromas and flavors of blackberry, cassis, plum and black cherry. Subtle hints of oak add spice and structure to this intense full bodied wine. Age-worthy for 10-20 years. Only 381 cases were produced.
This wine received 91 points from Wine Enthusiast; a Gold Medal & Cellar Selection from Tastings.com; anda Bronze Medal in the 2015 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
