A little bit of France, a touch of Argentina, and 100% Sonoma Valley, our 2014 Malbec is a wine not to miss. Crafted from Malbec grown just south of our downtown Sonoma tasting room, this wine represents the history that precedes it.

Known historically as “black wine” due to its dark color, Malbec thrives in the Cohors region of southwest France, where it has been produced since the Middle Ages. Today, Malbec is produced not only in France, but also in Argentina, which helped popularize this moody, mysterious wine in the United States.

Our award-winning Malbec is full-bodied with a deep, dark shade of inky purple. On the nose is the essence of sweet bing cherry, toasty oak, and cocoa. It’s an exotic wine, with rich flavors of sweet oak and blackberry. It lingers long, with a perfect touch of tannins that make it perfect for drinking now or aging for five more years.

This wine has a deep red hue and a bright nose of bing cherry and dusted cocoa that leads to a rich and round mouth feel. With just the right amount of tannins, this wine can be aged for five or more years.
Awards
Silver Medal: 2017 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
Vineyard Notes
This Sonoma Valley Malbec is grown just south of our downtown Sonoma tasting room. It's sunny, hot days, and cold, chilly nights make for perfect growing conditions.
Production Notes
Our Malbec is a real treasure: only 99 cases were produced. The grapes were harvested on October 11, 2014 and the wine was bottled on April 7, 2016.
Food Pairing Notes
A bold wine, our Malbec pairs perfectly with the rustic cuisine of the Cahors region: lamb shank, duck cassoulet, and pork roast. It also pairs great with nutty sheep's cheeses like Abbaye du Belloc and Urdiña, a creamy, rich blue cheese from the Basque region.
