Hear from Sonoma winery owner Lloyd Davis as he talks about upcoming events, recent news and more from Corner 103. Come join us for a Sonoma wine tasting soon!
Currently, our vineyards are pushing into fruit set and most have already started if not finished bloom or flowering. The crop is looking healthy, but quite a bit lighter than the previous 3 years, which set yield records basically everywhere in California. It’s not surprising that the vine seems a bit stressed, with reduced water usage, a short winter and a few heavy crops the last few years.
Lloyd Davis, Owner of Corner 103, welcomes wine club members to his tasting room in the May email update, offering an insight on wines, upcoming events, news and more.
I want to give a special thanks to all of my Wine Club members who came to my opening party last month! My family and I had a great time showing off the tasting room. We’re excited to have you visit us soon for the full Corner 103 experience.
A smiling Ingrid Martinez and her brother, Jeff Montague (Wine Country Cyclery), owners of the Feed Store building at West Napa and First Street East looked very pleased at the opening party for Lloyd Davis’ Corner 103 tasting room last weekend. Davis and his family celebrated with wine club members on Saturday, and with friends and media on Sunday. Everyone was greeted by Lloyd’s mother, Carol, who had flown in from New York for the weekend to pour his 2013 Rosé Sparkling wine in the new sleek and svelte tasting room that replaces Martinez’s art gallery on the corner. Carol then sent guests around the corner to the Red Grape’s patio, a perfect setting for a perfect afternoon event.
SONOMA – Former owner of Viansa Winery, Lloyd Davis, plans to open Corner 103, a Sonoma Tasting Experience, located at 103 West Napa Street, Sonoma California on April 20, 2015. You will have the opportunity to try all of his amazing wines while meeting his family and team before the public opening on April 20th.
Owner and Founder Lloyd Davis, originally from New York City, spent over 30 years in the Banking and Finance world before getting bit by the wine bug and moving to Sonoma. Over the past seven years, Lloyd has created a phenomenal selection of award-winning wines and a wine tasting experience second to none. Now he is starting his next venture, Corner 103, where he is inviting wine lovers to enjoy a seated, high-end, educational tasting experience with Sonoma County AVA wines.
Corner 103 did their first big public tasting of three reds: a Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and (I think) a Merlot. Their Pinot was easy to drink with just the right amount of fruitiness, and was made even more enjoyable by the good vibes emanated by owner Lloyd Davis and his staff. Corner 103 should open up later this spring. corner103.com
Lloyd Davis, onetime president of Viansa Winery & Marketplace as a partner in the Laurus Master Fund hedge fund, plans to open a tasting room and upscale gift shop at the corner of First Street West and West Napa Street. According to the ABC license in the window, and the word from Feed Store building owner Ingrid Martinez, Davis will call his new venture Corner 103, the address of Martinez’s former Changing Seasons Gallery.
